Mountain Dulcimer Society of Dayton

MDSD January Artist Series Concert and Workshop Day

Mountain Dulcimer Society of Dayton’s Annual

January Artist Series

Concert and Workshop Day

January 10 and January 11, 2020

Each year, we take turns featuring either the mountain dulcimer or hammered dulcimer, and we bring in top entertainers to share their music and expertise with us.  And together with the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, we provide a stunning weekend that we look forward to all year.

Our 2020 guest artists are Steve and Ruth Smith, from North Carolina.  On Friday, January 10th, they will be in concert at the lovely Troy-Hayner Cultural Center at 301 West Main St in Troy, OH, at 7:30 pm.  This is a FREE concert.  Please plan to arrive early – for best parking and seating. It is bound to be a fun evening, and we usually sell out!

And on Saturday, January 11, from 9am – 5 pm, and in several skill levels, our day of classes will take place at the West Charleston Church of the Brethren at 4817 OH-202, Tipp City, OH.
Ruth is a wonderful multi-instrumentalist and will teach three classes for hammered dulcimer.  Her husband, Steve, is also a multi-instrumentalist, acclaimed song writer and dab hand at many skills involving performing, recording and more.  Steve will be teaching songwriting and two classes for ukule
